A popular restaurant is back open at night after recognising customers missed its evening meals.

Greek eaterie We Are The Kitchen in Westhoughton was established five-and-a-half years ago.

The Market Street eaterie trialled brunch hours from 10am to 6pm but has now changed its opening times to Thursday to Sunday between 12pm and 9pm.

The new hours will allow brunch and dinner to be served there.

A spokesman for the restaurant said: “A few months ago we changed into a brunch destination and put an end to our late nights as a restaurant

“However, we have a little change, as we obviously have our summer nights on a Saturday until 9 but we want to offer a little more to be able to experience the night time atmosphere and our weekend section off our menu.”

As part of the change, We Are The Kitchen updated its summer menus initially, with new smoothies and margaritas on offer.

A spokesman said: “We’ve been asked several times when we going to open as a restaurant again and when we going to do our weekly special dishes.

“So, we decided this week and from now on to open as we started five years ago, where do times go?

“So, this week we going to change our days and hours and we going to operate Thursday to Sunday 12pm-9pm.

“The menu will stay the same but with a special every week, some people ask for mousaka or kleftiko, but with a twist.”

Kleftiko is lamb usually marinated in garlic, olive oil and lemon juice.

With its well liked Greek salads and gyros, the restaurant has quickly become a favourite in Westhoughton and is seen as the "Instagrammable" place to take a picture as rustic touch gives the restaurant a vintage look.

The business is also looking to expand the team and urgently need a full time kitchen porter and part time floor staff. Those interested should email thekitchenwesthoughton@gmail.com.
