TRAINS on two of Bolton's worst-performing routes remain dogged by delays.
More than a quarter of services on the Southport-to-Manchester route, calling at Westhoughton and Bolton, were more than five minutes late or cancelled, according to the latest figures.
Meanwhile, one in five trains between Clitheroe and Manchester Victoria - stopping at Bromley Cross, Hall i'th' Wood and Bolton - suffer the same problems.
The problems are highlighted in a report to Greater Manchester's Passenger Transport Authority, relating to the four weeks to February 2.
It says operator Northern Rail also failed to hit targets for providing extra carriages on its busiest commuter services.
Additional capacity was only provided on 85 per cent of those trains earmarked for more room, with the Southport and Clitheroe line services again among the worst hit.
However, the firm has promised the situation is improving.
