Harrogate T 0 Leigh RMI 0
WHAT has happened to Leigh's shaky defence?
A team that has previously only once finished without conceding a goal, has now managed a clean sheet on successive occasions.
They built on last week's 1-0 win over Alfreton with a battling display against the promotion-chasing Yorkshiremen.
It may be too little too late for the Blue Square North basement club, but after conceding 76 goals, an encouraging end to the season is just what new owner Dominic Speakman needs.
Harrogate came closest to grabbing victory when Danny Holland's effort smashed against the crossbar but that was the only time RMI's defence was threatened.
Centre-backs Rob Marsh-Evans and Paul Booth were impressived while young striker James Dunn, a recent signing from Burscough, was lively until he was injured.
That may cost him a place against his former club at Hilton Park this afternoon along with Bradley Maylett and Neil Carroll, who all took knocks.
