A boxer with a famous relative is taking part in a public workout in Bolton two weeks before his next fight in his hometown with Vicious Promotions.
Abdul Khan, a cousin of Amir Khan, will take part in the public workout alongside other boxers outside Market Place shopping centre on Saturday September 24.
He will be showing off his talent before his fight on Friday, October 7 at the VICIOUS V event at the University of Bolton Stadium.
It is set to be Bolton’s first public workout for boxing and 20-year-old Abdul, who recently won his fifth fight in his hometown for the first time, is eager to show the town what he can do.
He said: “Why here in Bolton? Because it’s home, my first love before I fight as the main card at VICIOUS V held at the University of Bolton Stadium.”
Abdul has fought six times with no losses and aims to keep it that way as he looks to take on his second hometown fight.
Kieran Farrell, a former unbeaten professional lightweight boxer and who runs Vicious Promotions, said: “I’m so excited to be holding VICIOUS V in Bolton again.
“The last event was immense, and we hope the next one will be bigger and better.
“The public workout on the 24th will be amazing and a great chance for everyone to come by and say hello to all the boxers boxing on the day.
“I’m over the moon to be working again with Abdul.
"He’s a star of the future and I was up in Market Place recently and thought it would be good to get the lads out here and get the exposure to everybody.
“I hope he can get another knockout performance, it’s exciting for the fans who are paying for tickets.”
Abdul and his team will be choosing the winners of four free tickets to anyone who follows him on Instagram and tags him in their story.
Tickets for the fight are £35 for unreserved seating, £750 to seat 10 people at a table, and VIP at £1,500.
Halal food will also be served on the night.
