Members of staff from Toby Carvery Bolton helped raise nearly £1,000 during a charity hike up Snowdon.
They joined staff from 13 other Toby Carvery restaurants in order to climb the peak – the highest point in the British Isles outside of Scotland – in five hours.
The money raised – totalling £870 so far - will go to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and is part of a partnership between the two organisations.
The pair announced the partnership in June, along with the pledge that Toby Carvery’s 153 restaurants across Great Britain would host a variety of fundraisers over the course of two weeks between August 22 and September 4.
Toby Carvery has committed to raising £50,000 for the charity.
Other events included a fancy-dress carwash, live music events and raffles.
The district’s Retail Business manager Nick Moore said: “As a newly formed district, our aim is to raise as much money as possible for the NSPCC. We have lots of fundraising plans in the making which include tackling The Three Peaks in Scotland and Yorkshire next.
“We’d like to thank our lovely guests and local communities for their thoughtful donations”.
Martin Gosling, Operations Director at Toby Carvery, said: “As a family favourite chain, we are proud of our charity partnership with the NSPCC and its teams who provide such impactful support to vulnerable children and their families across the UK.
“We’d also like to thank our teams and guests who held and took part in lots of exciting fundraising activities to support the NSPCC’s lifechanging work.”
