Bolton Central Library and the History Centre will be temporarily relocating to allow for multi-million refurbishment work to take place.
The library and History Centre will be closed from Saturday September 10 whilst work takes place over the next year.
Residents will still be able to visit the library at the former New Look unit in Crompton Place from Monday September 26, where there will also be a welcome coffee morning between 10am-noon.
Access to the History Centre’s online resources will be available as normal, but all local studies and reference material will only be available by request.
The Bolton Museum, aquarium, and all other libraries will remain open as normal.
It is part of a £23.9m Towns Fund, with £3m of it being set aside for expanding and upgrading the children’s area, improving social spaces, and updating the digital facilities in the main area, with the addition of a mezzanine floor.
