IT is the 30th birthday of Bolton Hospice caring for people in the community.
So what better time than to mark the occasion and come up with a plan to support the good cause for future generations.
Whether it’s holding a bake sale, signing up to join the hospice lottery, taking on a fundraising challenge or volunteering at the hospice, you can help the hospice celebrate its 30th anniversary. Take a look at their ‘30 ways to support us’ list to find out how you can help.
Here are just some of the ideas you could use.
Organise a birthday party for the hospice with your family and friends and raise money with some games or a raffle!
Volunteer at one of the charity shops across the borough, helping to generate vital income for the hospice whilst being part of a friendly and hardworking team.
Sign up to the weekly lottery to be in with the chance of scooping a £1,000 top prize every Friday – for just £1 a week!
The amazing nurses provide expert care, hope and support for patients. Sponsor a nurse from just £3 a month and you’ll be helping a nurse to support patients and families at every difficult step of their journey.
The hospice would love to hear your memories of the place from the past 30 years – if you have a story or photos you would like to share, please send them to marketing@boltonhospice.org or contact us via our social media channels.
Shop second-hand in our charity shop and showcase your bargains or upcycling skills! We want more people to see the fantastic bargains available in our 10 charity shops.
If you are celebrating a special milestone yourself in 2022, support us by asking friends and family to make a donation to Bolton Hospice in lieu of a gift
If you could place a collection tin at your pub, shop, café, restaurant or anywhere else please get in touch - each collection tin raises around £61 a year for the hospice in vital funds.
Take on a challenge for us – anything goes including running, cycling, skydiving, overseas treks and assault courses! Check out our full challenge calendar on our website, including details of our special anniversary wing walk.
Add a new leaf to our Tree of Life, a poignant collection of personalised engraved leaves on our beautiful tree sculpture in the main hospice reception.
Fancy a brew and a slice of homemade cake? Or maybe a full English breakfast or a light lunch? Come and visit us at The Old Bank Café in Astley Bridge (next to Asda)
Treat yourself to a special item from our online eBay store, where we list and sell items of special interest that are kindly donated to our charity shops.
Set up a tribute fund in the name of your loved one – they are a unique way to make a lasting tribute, and for many people supporting a cause by concentrating your time and effort into keeping a memory alive can help with loss.
