Two schools at The Bishop Fraser Trust have achieved significantly higher GCSE results.
Canon Slade achieved amazing results, with 64 per cent achieving grade 5s and 85 per cent receiving grade 4s in both English and maths.
The school has thanked parents and carers for all their support, as well as the continued efforts of staff, during a challenging couple of years.
Canon Slade's very proud head teacher Karen Sudworth said: “We are immensely proud of the achievement and success that our students have realised today at Canon Slade School, in the face of significant challenges posed by the pandemic.
“Their grades stand as testament to the hard work and dedication that they have demonstrated throughout the five years they have spent with us and more importantly they will act as an important stepping stone to their future endeavours.
“We are also ever grateful for the support of our parents and carers as well as the continued efforts of all our staff during what has been another very challenging year contextually.
“Their enthusiasm and commitment to helping students achieve their full potential has been fundamental in producing our headline results of 64% grade 5s and 85 per cent grade 4s in both English and maths.”
St Catherine’s Academy also achieved their best results ever, which have ‘significantly’ improved compared to 2019, and ‘significantly up’ from 2020 and 2021.
Head teacher Rachael Lucas is over joyed with the schools' results.
She said: "We are absolutely thrilled and delighted for the students who have produced a fantastic set of results which are our best ever results.
"Our results are very significantly improved form 2019, the last time examinations were taken, and they are significantly up from the teacher and centre assessed grades from 2020 and 2021.
"We must recognise the incredible hard work, resilience and determination of all our students and the staff who have supported them throughout this year and during Covid.
"Congratulations to everyone for proving how our students can achieve their 'excellence’ here at BSCA."
