Turton School is celebrating GCSE success after a difficult couple of years.
Head teacher Sam Gorse has praised the students for all of their exam results, and hard work, but also says that pupils have “shown themselves to be so much more than a set of exam results”.
Many of the students achieved grade 9s, with plenty of pupils achieving grade 8s and 7s respectfully.
Some of the top achievers include: Liam Dunne: 9 grade 9s; 2 Grade 8s; 1 Grade 7, Sean Hendrick: 8 Grade 9s; 2 Grade 8s; 2 Grade 7s, Zach Iddon: 7 grade 9; 2 Grade 8; 2 Grade 7, Finlay Street: 5 Grade 9s; 4 grade 8s; 2 Grade 7s, 1 Grade 6, Tommy Andrew: 5 Grade 9s; 2 Grade 8s; 2 Grade 7, Hannah Kier: 4 Grade 9s; 6 Grade 8s; 1 Grade 7.
Ms Gorse said: “My congratulations go to all Turton students on the completion of this stage of their education, and on their many achievements during this period of study.
“This year’s impressive results reflect the effort and commitment that students have put into their studies.
“Over the last few years, during the pandemic and beyond, this year group have shown themselves to be so much more than a set of exam results: maintaining high standards of work, commitment to their studies, resilience, and thoughtfulness towards each other.
“I and all the teachers at Turton, are enormously proud of each student’s development and accomplishments.
“It has been a pleasure to work with such a fabulous group of students and we wish everyone all the best for the future.”
