Nacro Bolton celebrated a record number of high-grade passes across English and maths GCSEs.
Nacro is an independent training provider specialising in vocational courses alongside GCSEs, offering a unique learning setting and work experience and work placements.
One learner, Muhammed Ibrahim, 17, arrived in the UK from Pakistan 10 months ago with no qualifications, and found himself unable to enrol in mainstream education.
He joined Nacro to study for his GCSEs and found out he had achieved a grade 7 in maths and 4 in English.
He plans to go on college to study A-levels in psychology, business and computer science."
Muhammed said: “I’ve put in a lot of hard work, studying for my GCSEs and I feel like that’s been rewarded today, I’m really looking forward to heading to college and doing my A-levels. I’m super pleased.”
Nacro Bolton centre manager Georgina Davies said: “I’m hugely proud of all our learners and what they have achieved. Adjusting back to ‘in person’ exams has been a real challenge for some of our learners and it’s brilliant to see all their work pay off.
"I’m so excited for our students next steps, whether they continue their learning and training with us, or progress onto further education, employment or training.”
