Operation Lioness is again taking place across Bolton this weekend to tackle violence directed at women who are enjoying a night out.
The operation has been running over the past few weeks as part of Greater Manchester wide initiative.
Bolton police release Operation Lioness update
Sgt Craig Wallace said:"The OpLioness patrols will be out in the town centre this weekend on Friday and Saturday night and we will be on duty until seven in the morning.
"What we are aiming to do is to promote the safety of women and girls that are out in Bolton town centre and they way that you can do that is by an initiative that is on at the moment called Ask Angela.
"Ask Angela is known within the police that if you say Anglela what that will mean to me is that you feel vulnerable and do not feel safe and that is also implied to all the bars and all the door staff that are out there including the clubs.
"If you approach any of them as well as the police and say that then they know that you do not feel safe and there is action that we need to take to make you feel safe.
"As police we will be going in all the bars and clubs in Bolton to have a walk round and if there is any concerns that you have at that time please do come and speak to us and let us know, it's really important that you approach us because its about safety, if you don't feel safe then the chances are someone else doesn't feel safe either, so please come and approach us and then we will put some measures in place so you feel ok."
