Students at Turton School are celebrating tonight after getting good A-level and BTEC results.

Turton School students were overjoyed at receiving their results this morning with parents anxiously waiting outside.

Peter Webster achieved A*A*A*A* and is heading to Oxford to read Earth Sciences, whilst Lexie Horrocks achieved A*A*A* and is planning to study international relations at the University of Essex.

Sam Gorse, headteacher,  said: “Students at Turton are celebrating a fantastic set of A- level and BTEC results, which reflect the hard work and determination they have put into their studies.

“We are also delighted for Poppy Dorning who achieved D*D*D in her Health and Social Care BTEC course and now plans to study Adult Nursing at Salford.

“Bucking the national trend, 67 per cent of grades achieved are between A* and B, which is an increase on previous years.

“We are incredibly proud of all of our students not just for the hard work that has gone into their academic studies, but for their resilience in overcoming the challenges and disruptions to their education over the last few years.

“Good luck class of 2022.”

Jacob Parsons and Victoria Adeoje Sulaiman both attained A*A*AA and are now off to Durham and Bath to study mathematics and international management, respectively.
