A psychology student is now hoping to make a difference in helping people, after receiving top A-level grades.
Luca Sandu, 18, from The Sixth Form Bolton studied psychology, physics, and sport and exercise science.
Ever since he was younger, he has developed an interest in human behaviour and being able to read people well.
Luca achieved an A* in psychology, B physics and a distinction* in sport and exercise science.
He now wants to help people live ‘better lives’ in any way he can through understanding them with psychology.
Luca said: “All I have done is prepare well for the past two years.
“This moment is where we started, and where it starts.
“I would have been nervous coming up to the exams.
“But I know how much hard work I put in, so it’s exactly what I expected, nothing less and nothing more.”
He says he found the adjustment coming to college from Rosebridge Academy ‘challenging’ but has really ‘motivated and pushed’ himself to get to where he wants to be.
Luca added: “It was challenging getting used to the time management and work after as well.
“But you just have to motivate yourself and keep pushing,
“I gave myself that push and put everything into it.”
Luca mainly wants to study psychology but is also passionate about studying biomedicine or sports science too at Lancaster University.
He said: “I have always looked at people’s behaviour and been able to read people.
“I want to help people and help them live better lives.
“One of the greatest impacts you can have is on the mind.
“With one thing, you can change a lot.”
Luca says it was his mum that first saw his potential, although he was previously studying business.
His mum was also there to cheer him on and was 'extremely proud'.
He added: “When studying psychology, I fell in love with it and knew that is what I should have been doing.”
