The Made in Manchester Festival is just around the corner, and it is set to be bigger and better than ever before.
The first festival in 2019 was a big hit with punters.
And the organisers were then hit with cancellations due to the pandemic, but returned again last year, again to a great reception.
This year, organiser Rob Brierley says that he is hoping to top the previous two events, which both received glowing feedback.
He said: “I can’t wait now.
“We had a great turnout in 2019 and then came back after the pandemic last year and we got some great feedback from the local community.
“This year we’re hoping to be bigger and better than before.”
Hosted in the grounds of Bolton Arena, festivalgoers will be treated to tribute acts of some of Manchester’s most famous bands, as well as local, up-and-coming original artists.
Among the line up are the Courtbetweeners, The Importance of Being Oasis, Appy Mundays, Laid, and True Order – tributes to the Courteeners, Oasis, the Happy Mondays, James and New Order, respectively.
The local selection consists of The Jade Assembly, The Facades, Killjoys, Scratch and Part Time Signals.
The event will be hosted by DJ Dave Sweetmore, who will be also playing Manchester classics, indie anthems and dance floor fillers.
“We’re gearing up for it now,” Rob said. “We’ve sold around 1,300 tickets out of 2,000 so there are around 700 left.
“Bolton Wanderers are at home the same day so we’re hoping to piggyback on that. There’s a discount offer for ticket holders.
“It’s a great family-friendly day out. There really is something for everyone.
“We’ve got some of the UK’s best tribute bands as well was local original bands."
Other attractions include a fairground, bars and food stalls.
The even will is also supporting Bolton charity Lagan's Foundation, which provides support and respite to families of children between the ages of 0 to 19 who have complex health needs.
