A stunning home is up for sale in Harwood, as a family look to downsize and move to Bury.
The house in Harwood belongs to Claire and William Gallie and is on the market for £599,950.
Boasting five bedrooms, a lounge, diner and a kitchen perfect for hosting social dinners, the couple are sad to be leaving their home filled with memories since their two older children lived there.
Claire and William have lived in Church Meadows for 15 years and have decorated the house with art from all over the world bought on their travels.
Claire said: “When we bought it, we liked the size of the kitchen and garden because we spend a lot of time in the garden when the weather is nice.
“The boys used to play football and we had a trampoline and barbecues.
“It’s such a nice and quiet place to sit and spend family time as well.”
With the family dog Saf padding around the house, Claire, a cooking teacher at Woodhey, revealed that the couple wanted to downsize and move to Bury, where William owns The Eagle and Child.
She said: “I’ll remember family gatherings, putting up the Christmas tree with the boys and sitting around the table drinking and eating.
“The kitchen is my favourite part because it’s where we spend the most time cooking and socialising.
“I like to make a lot of Sri-Lankan dishes even though they’re really spicy.”
Claire loves cooking and the house even has a under the stair bookshelf dedicated to her cookbooks.
Art from Greece, Sri Lanka, and Sharm El Sheikh among others have been put up around the house as the well-travelled couples look forward to more exciting places to visit.
Claire said: “I also love the reading room upstairs, it’s just a bit of peace when I just want to sit with a book.”
The house, presented by Cardwells Estate Agents in Bolton, features ample garden space and a driveway big enough for four cars.
A separate utility area is also included in the property, leaving potential buyers with a chance to create a kitchen of their dreams.
