An allotment show will return later this month after have had to take a two-year break because of Covid.
The Allotment Show at Moss Lea will be taking place at the Astley Bridge Cricket Club car park turning on August 27.
The event will begin at 2pm with organisers promising a range of activities on offer spanning from allotment displays, raffles, plant sales and games for children, with a selections of refreshments available.
Secretary Steve Barlow said: “Plot holders are now busy choosing their vegetables, fruit and flowers to exhibit in the amenity hut and will keenly await the verdict of our two experienced judges as to the best quality.
“Walk the site and see the full and half-plots judged 'Best on Site' and see if you agree with the judges' opinion.
“There will be lots going on, with children’s' activities, raffles, plant and produce sales, presentations by our resident bee-keeper and opportunity to find out more about allotmenting by chatting to our plot holders.
“Refreshments are available in the Potting Shed Cafe and our BBQ area.
“It's a great afternoon, rounded off with presentation of prizes and our famous produce auction.”
Mr Barlow and his fellow allotment keepers hope to see as many people of all ages as possible join then on August 27.
