Residents have expressed their sadness after a man was found dead at home in Ramsbottom this morning, Sunday.
Police were called at around 9am after a man's body was found at an address on Square Street.
Enquiries are ongoing but it is thought that there are ‘no suspects’ in connection with the case.
One resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I didn’t know him very well. We just had a kind of casual ‘hello how are you’.
“It’s tragic.”
Another resident added: “It started yesterday. There was an ambulance and two paramedics then police, they then went away.
“This morning it was the same, an ambulance and two paramedics had been there for hours since early morning and two police cars.
“Then there was what looked like a special evidence unit with its own van. Soon after there were at least two people in full hazmat suits."
