Bolton Wanderers’ new fan zone could be set to host a range of seasonal events throughout the year.
This comes after a bid by the club for the right to host recorded and live music events and to sell drinks at the 1000 capacity premises on the Burnden Way, which is now being considered by Bolton Council.
The fan zone, on the site of the former Upper Concourse car park, was unveiled on Saturday August 6, with the club saying at the time that it is likely to be enhanced over the coming months.
Head of stadium and facility operations Ben Cowcill said: “The licence allows us to operate the fan zone, which was hugely popular at last Saturday’s opening for our first home game of the season.
“In addition it will also give is the opportunity to explore other options and activities on the fan zone site on non-matchdays.
“That may include a range of different social events throughout the year and could also permit the use of the site by outside businesses and corporate partners, who share the same ethos and ethics as the club, to stage events.”
The fan zone has a capacity of 1,000
The fan zone has already proven popular with Wanderers fans by providing a range of entertainments and stalls selling food, drink and Whites themed merchandise on matchdays.
