Police in Tonge Moor say they discovered a large cannabis farm after residents reported concerns that a house was not secure.
Greater Manchester Police officers from the Bolton North team visited a property in Tonge Moor after being notified by concerned residents.
They have not yet announced any arrests and say their investigations are ongoing.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "Whilst on patrol Bolton North Officers have attended an address in Tonge Moor, due to residents calling in a concern as the property was insecure.
"Upon arrival, officers have noticed the front door lock has been snapped and the rear door has been left wide open.
"Once inside the address they have found a large cannabis grow and that the electricity had been bypassed.
"Officers have dismantled and disposed of the cannabis appropriately, an investigation is ongoing."
