A craft beer festival will roll into Bolton town centre next month.
Popular bar and brewery Northern Monkey Brew Co is behind plans to bring such a festival back to the centre of Bolton, building on the town's reputation for staging events, such as Right to Roam as well as the annual Bolton Food and Drink Festival.
The beer festival will be held on Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17 and says co-organiser Liam Convey, plenty to toast at the festival, including live music.
Monkey on the Town will be held at Northern Monkey's Brewery Tap Room on Chorley Street
Liam Convey said: "We will have some of the best local and national breweries on offer in the shape of 12 cask and 12 keg lines.
"We will be serving up the best beers from Cloudwater, Verdant, Rivington and Pomona Island to name a few.
"We will also have Bolton's very own Bank Top Brewery and Blackedge Brewery's finest flowing from the pumps - and of course, Northern Monkey Brew Co will have plenty of their favourites on offer from over the years as well as a couple of new beers to try out and a collaboration or two".
The festival will also feature lagers, ciders, wine and The Bolton Gin Company.
"All can be enjoyed with offerings of freshly baked Neapolitan pizza from Fire and Fizz or a hot toasted panini from The Cakery," said Liam.
The line-up of band performing during the afternoon and evening include Jade Assembly, Horse Opera and Luke McColl.
There will be a marquee and outdoor seating.
Liam said: "We want to establish an annual town centre event that will give Bolton something to be proud of, drinking some awesome beers with like minded people of the Bolton community. After the recent success of ‘Right to Roam’ festival at our taproom, we really feel that Northern Monkey Brew Co is an excellent venue to hold small festivals
"Those attending will be supporting a small, independent business.
"We’re going to put on a show to remember so get involved.Come on down with friends, family, work mates and have a time to remember."
The festival comes after Northern Monkey staged its hugely popular Monkey in the Woods’ beer festival last September in Barrow Bridge.
All festival goers will receive a free festival Glass, free drink and 'Monkey On The Town' Festival Programme 'as a reminder of the year when a proper Beer Festival returned to Bolton Town Centre'.
