A lane was closed on the M61 yesterday afternoon, Thursday, after a crash between a van and a car.
The crash happened on the M61 southbound between junction 6 for Horwich and junction 5 for Westhoughton.
No-one was seriously injured.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At approximately 4pm on Thursday, firefighters were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the M61 southbound, between junctions five and four.

“Fire engines from Bolton and Atherton stations quickly attended the scene. The collision involved a van and a car.
“Firefighters worked to make the scene safe and were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes.”
A spokesperson from North West Ambulance Service added: "I can confirm that we received at call at 3.38pm yesterday afternoon, Thursday, to a road traffic collision on the M61 involving two vehicles but no ambulances were sent to the incident."
Regarding the incident, a spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police said: "It is not believed to have resulted in any serious injuries or fatalities."
