Leigh RMI 1 Gainsborough 3
LEIGH RMI's relegation plight deepened when they threw away the lead and the chance of precious points in Blue Square North.
Without a game next Saturday, the Railwaymen will have 10 days to stew over a disappointing display.
They went ahead in the 28th minute when Mark Smyth's cross was scrambled home by Gavin Salmon, but 12 minutes later an error by goalkeeper Richard Mottram allowed Lewis McMahon's corner to slip through his hands.
McMahon grabbed his second from the penalty spot in the 75th minute after Scott Willis was harshly adjudged to have handled the ball in the area. Danny Anson headed home a third goal which looked offside and resulted in Rob Marsh-Evans shown a red card for dissent.
