WANDERERS were unfortunate not to be in front at half-time after dominating Atletico Madrid in their UEFA Cup clash.
Gary Megson's side created a succession of chances as they took the game to the Spanish giants in an entertaining first period in front of a near-capacity Reebok crowd.
Four times Matt Taylor forced saves from the visitors' goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, the first of which came just 30 seconds into a pulsating last-32 tie.
But Wanderers were still indebted to a superb save from Jussi Jaaskelainen to deny Antonio Lopez after the defender sent Jose Reyes' free-kick goalwards on 14 minutes.
