A well-loved circus is back in Bolton until the end of the month - and they are excited to showcase new perfomances.
Led by ringmistress Petra Jackson, the traditional family circus, Circus Mondeo, has been back in Bolton since Wednesday showcasing fantastic acts for all the family to enjoy.
The circus is on six days a week with two-hour long shows in the big top on Wigan Road, opposite the Three Pigeons pub.
Performances include acrobats from Morocco, performers from Brazil, a clown also from Brazil, ariel acts, a lady who hangs from her hair and also magic and illusion.
Petra is excited to showcase a new show this year and welcoming back the whole Bolton community and not just children.
She said: "We have got a new show this year, we have been coming to this venue for 16 years now and we try to give a new show each year.
"There's something for the kids and there is something for the adults too.
"A lot of people think circuses are for children but its for adults too.
"When we come to Bolton we do find a lot of young adults come to the shows.
"We love coming here every year, this year the weather is very dry.
"Many many times it's been so muddy here at the venue and people come prepared and come in their wellies but this year it's very dry.
"The family who own the field are like family to us, we have watched their children grow up so it's great to be back.
"My uncle owns the Circus King which came to the same venue 30 or 40 years previous to that before we came here for the past 16 years.
"We love coming back to Bolton, it's like coming home, we have people messaging us a alot through the year asking when we are coming back, we come each year in July but we still get the people messaging us.
"We are really glad to be back."
The circus has been open since Wednesday July 20 and runs until Sunday, July 31.
It will open Wednesday, July 20 to Sunday, July 24 and then Wednesday, July 27 to Sunday, July 31.
Performances start each day at 5pm and 7.30pm during the week but on Saturday's the performances are 2pm and 5pm and on Sunday 2pm only.
Prices fluctuate depending on where people want to sit but on Wednesday all seats are £7 and tickets can only be purchased from the onsite office.
