A man has been arrested after he was found with a ‘bladed weapon’ at a primary school in Tyldesley.
It comes as police received reports of a man at St Georges Centre C.E. Primary School on Darlington Street carrying a weapon.
Officers attended the scene as quickly as possible, just after 3pm.
A spokesperson from GMP said: “At around 3:10pm on Friday 15 July, we were called to reports of a man with a bladed weapon at a primary school on Darlington Street, Tyldesley.
“Officers attended the scene, and a man has been arrested.”
A picture of a helicopter in the area has been shared on social media, but it has not yet been confirmed if this is connected.
Parents can also be seen in a video which was also shared, where they were trying to intervene before police arrived.
