It's just one little day of the year and it's mainly for couples, yet the high street is jumping on the seasonal bandwagon and creating whole collections to honour St Valentine's Day.

Now, of course its nothing new to adjust a collection to accomodate a special day, however, it's usually Christmas or Halloween which get all the shelf space.

But now retailers are realising just how much consumers are willing to spend at Valentine's and are merely supplying the thirst for products.

It used to be that you had just a few select shops to go to for luxurious lingerie but now almost every high street has a frilly section to feast your eyes on.

Take Dorothy Perkins for example. This satin spot cami and short set comes in at £14 and is a step away from the suspender and belt combo most commonly found at this time of the year.

And it's not just Dotty P that is on-trend for Valentine's. ASOS.com are stocking Ultimo's lingerie range featuring Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding. This pink satin plunge bra with diamante bow is in at £25 and the matching thong is in at £12. The best thing about this set is you can wear it under your little black dress and won't get the messy bumps and lumps you get with lacy ensembles. Your bloke will never know you're wearing such a sexy set - unless you tell him, of course.

ASOS are also stocking a range of scents - to lure yourself a new man, or as a great gift idea to hint to your boyfriend.
