Drink driver jailed

A MAN has been jailed after he was caught drink driving when he had already been banned from the roads. Qadeer Ahmed, aged 41, of Queensgate, Bolton, was disqualified from driving when he was caught driving an Audi A3 on Beaumont Road, Bolton, on May 6. Ahmed admitted driving whilst banned, having no insurance, driving with excess alcohol and possessing cocaine. He was jailed for 18 weeks and banned from applying for a driving licence for five years.

Unpaid work

A WOMAN who had drunk more than double the legal alcohol limit when she drove a Honda Jazz has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. Stephanie Lenton, aged 34, of Reed Close, Farnworth, drove the vehicle on De Havilland Way, Horwich, on May 15. Lenton was banned from driving for 23 months.

Barber fined

A BARBER who failed to produce copies of waste transfer notes regarding rubbish from his business has been fined £200. Abdoulaye Gueye, aged 42, of Whitelion Court, Bolton, and who runs Faye Barbers on Bridge Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on February 7.

Drunk and disorderly

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £40 after he admitted being drunk and disorderly in Nelson Square, Bolton, on May 14. Abdi Shakour, aged 27, of Thornbank, Bolton, was also ordered to pay £119 in costs and charges.

Roads ban

A MAN caught drink-driving on the M61 at Bolton has been banned from the roads for 18 months. Garry Gray, aged 41, of Mildane, Hull, pleaded guilty to having drunk double the legal alcohol limit on May 15 when he drove a Honda CRV. He was fined £120.

Church vandalised

MAGISTRATES have fined a man after he admitted causing £100 worth of damage to the glass front door of Trinity Methodist Church in Bolton on March 23. Darren Davis, aged 30, of Pimlott Road, Bolton, was fined £50 and made subject to a community order which includes participation in 15 days of rehabilitation activities.

Teenager had machete

A TEENAGER caught with a machete in Thicketford Road, Bolton, on February 12 last year has been made subject to a youth rehabilitation order for 16 days. The 17-year-old admitted possessing the weapon.

Drivers not named

MAGISTRATES have convicted five Bolton people of failing to identify to police the drivers of vehicles who were suspected of committing offences. Alisa Kumar, aged 31, of Thorns Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to not naming the driver of a BMW X3 on March 12 and has been fined £438. The following four people were all convicted of similar offences and fined £660. Christopher Atack, aged 38, of Broadheath Close, Westhoughton, was banned from having a licence for 12 months after he failed to name the driver of a Ford Transit van on November 12 last year. Eldi Hoxha, aged 35, of Lower Rawson Street, Farnworth, did not name the driver of a VW Passat on November 17 last year and has been banned from driving for six months. Kasim Khan, aged 33, of Rishton Lane, Bolton, did not name the driver of a Ford Transit van to police on November 5 last year. He was also banned from driving for six months, as was Taylor Oldham, aged 31, of Kingthorpe Gardens, Bolton, after he failed to name the driver of a Mercedes AMG to police on October 25 last year.
