A heritage talk will be open to all comers next week, focusing on efforts to restore one of the region’s most historic canal sites.
The talk will be taking place at Little Lever Library on Tuesday, July 12 and will look at the history of the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal in the area.
This will be delivered by a historic society that specialises in the subject.
A statement from Bolton Library and Museums Services said: “Join us at Little Lever Library next Tuesday, July 12, at 7pm, for a talk on ‘Restoring the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal in Little Lever’, delivered by the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal Society.
“All are welcome and there is no need to pre-book, just turn up!”
This marks one of several new group activities at the Little Lever library since it moved into its new home on Market Street on the site of the former Tesco Metro.
The library is also soon set to be joined by GP services at the £5.2m facility in September.
As well as organisations like the canal restoration talk, the library offers a wide range of computers and training for people to get online alongside books, magazines, and audio-visual resources.
