A children’s performing arts school from Bolton have bedazzled their way to a gleaming set of exam results.
Little Voices performing arts school helped students in Bolton to achieve outstanding results in this year’s London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) exams.
Children at the school took their exams in May, with 95 per cent receiving a distinction and the school maintaining its 100 per cent pass record.
Little Voices focuses on expert guidance and traditional teaching methods in singing and acting, delivered in small group lessons to maximise student development.
Principal Laura Hanlon said: “We are thrilled that our students’ talents have been recognised through these amazing results and are so proud of all of them.
“Especially after such a long time away from lessons due to Covid. This year, it has been more important than ever to build children’s confidence and watch them flourish.
“I work alongside the most talented tutors who make this all possible. It really is a dream job and it is always rewarding to be part of an organisation that helps students to achieve their ambitions.”
LAMDA examinations are prestigious awards, from which students can gain UCAS points to help with their university applications.
As part of the exam, students must learn a poem, monologue or group musical theatre scene.
The amazing results included Saffiyah, aged only 5, who achieved an exceptional 97/100 for her solo poem performance, making her the youngest student to achieve such a high result.
Ava, aged 10, also achieved an exceptional mark of 94 out of 100 for her group performance of Annie.
She said: “I chose this piece because I love the characters and the songs.
"My group had so much fun learning it and it is so rewarding to have all of our hard work judged so highly.”
Little Voices Principal and former primary school teacher Laura Hanlon has been running centres across the North West since April 2020, opening at the peak of the pandemic.
She and her team have since trained more than 150 students in drama and singing, helping them to achieve consistently impressive LAMDA results.
