The Asian Restaurant Awards has announced its 2022 winners and a restaurant in Bolton made the list along with three Manchester restaurants.

With an audience of more than 500 guests, the event was held at the Hilton Manchester Piccadilly on Monday, June 27 and was sponsored by Just Eat and Booker Wholesale.

The event was hosted by BBC news anchor Samantha Simonds and restaurants across the UK were recognised.

Winners of Asian Restaurant Awards 2022 revealed

Achari Indian Restaurant in Bolton won Best Asian Restaurant in the north west while Manchester restaurants won accolades such as Best Newcomer and Best Asian Restaurant in the city.

Here’s the list of Manchester restaurants that were named winners.

  • Delhi Dream Indian Restaurant: Best Asian Restaurant – Manchester
  • Vermillion Cinnabar: Best Fusion Restaurant
  • Spice Mafia: Best Newcomer (joint winner with Balchao in Hale Barns, Altrincham)

Winners of this year’s awards will be included in the ACF’s new One Hundred Top Curry Restaurants guide which is currently being published, region by region at the Top 100 Curry Restaurants website.

A printed version of the guide will be available next year.

The ACF will also host two more awards ceremonies this year - the sixth Asian Restaurant Awards (Scotland) in Edinburgh at the Sheraton Grand on September 19 and the twelfth Asian Curry Awards at London’s Grosvenor House on November 20.

These awards are the UK’s only restaurant awards open to all Asian cuisines, including: Bangladeshi, Burmese, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Middle Eastern, Pakistani, Singaporean, Sri Lankan, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.
