A recent update to the Instagram app has left some pining for a return to normal service.
Users of the social media app will no doubt have noticed the previously white background has now turned black following an update.
Some have complained the darker screen makes it more difficult to read captions and are wanting their feed to be as it was.
The recent switch also increases the size of posts, which are now in a 9:16 ratio and consume most (if not all) of the phone screen.
So, how do you change it back?
If you're using an iPhone, you'll need to check your settings - that's because Instagram mirrors your phone's settings (e.g. if your phone is in light mode, the background will be white).
Look to see if your device's display is set to light or dark mode.
Unfortunately, if your phone is in light mode and your Instagram feed is still appearing with a black background, there's no apparent fix at the moment.
It's simpler for Android users - you can change settings within the Instagram app itself.
Tap on your profile picture and then the three horizontal bars in the top right.
Then just tap "Settings" and then tap "Theme" - you'll be presented with a choice between dark and light.
