With just 30 days to go, a youth centre is gearing up to unveil their new flagship centre offering limitless opportunities for children and young people in Bolton.

Bolton Lads & Girls Club (BLGC) have been undergoing a privately funded £2.4m refurbishment on their main site on Spa Road, now with a 30-day countdown, and children and young people are eagerly awaiting the centre to reopen.

The refurbishment sees the centre completely transformed, internally and externally, officially re-opening its doors on Monday, July 18.

The BLGC centre will open with a rebranded identity under the name of "Infinity" and chief executive Karen Edwards OBE and colleagues are sure the centre will be out of this world.

She said: “We’re so excited, it’s the final countdown now before we re-open Boltons flagship youth centre.

“Our new centre, which is named 'Infinity', will ensure that we remain true to our purpose as a charity, creating unlimited opportunities for our towns children and young people to learn, grow and thrive whilst creating a platform for growth for BLGCs next 5 year strategy.

“We can’t wait to open the doors to hundreds of young people each and every week.  Our youngsters have had a very tough few years, and they need us more now than ever before.”

The centre after the refurbishment is aiming to reach even more youngsters, anticipating 3000 new members in the first six months of opening.

Kelly McFadden, head of fundraising and communications, added: “We would really like to thank everyone who has supported the refurbishment, we have some very generous private donors who are committed to ensuring kids in Bolton have the very best opportunities.

“As well as patrons and supporters who have helped us equip the centre ready for our young people who deserve the best.”

As BLGC gets ready to open its Infinity doors, the charity is on a mission to recruit and find amazing volunteers to join them in this new chapter and are reaching out for support.

BLGC will be holding an drop-in day at The Bank, 113-117 Deansgate Bolton BL1 1HA on Thursday June, 23 April between 2-4pm and 7-8.30pm with free tea and cake for those interested in volunteering.
