People flocked to get a 'pizza' of the action when a new eaterie opened in Bolton.
FireAway Pizza opened on Newport Street and, say the owners, celebrated a successful first week.
The branch in Newport Street is one of three Matthew Oliver owns.
And the Bolton pizza parlour is the only one with seating.
Matthew, who lives in Bury, said: “It was surprising to see how busy we were over the weekend and the first day.
“The other sites are busier at night but this one is busy even during the day.
“Everyone has been really friendly, so it’s been good to see.
“The free pizzas went in the first half an hour with queues outside the door but even after that it didn’t deter people because they still ordered and we had pizzas for £5 for two days.”
With downstairs seating available until 10pm most days, Matthew hopes that students will find their way to the tables with charging points, studying while enjoying a slice.
He said: “None of the other sites have seating but when I came to see this place, I saw the downstairs and thought it would be good to use it.
“We didn’t initially plan on it but it’s a good space and we are going to hopefully be adding booths soon.
“Students can sit here and do their work while eating pizza as we have charging and free WiFi will be available.”
There are 106 FireAway restaurants in the UK, first started by Mario Aleppo, who set out to create an unrivalled pizza experience by going to Italy and meeting farmers who now send him their choicest peeled tomatoes directly from Naples.
He then negotiated with mills in northern Italy who prepare the flour to his own specifications.
