TOP Gear presenter Paddy McGuinness was back in Bolton to make an appeal on behalf of an old pal.
The TV personality, who grew up in Daubhill, was back on the street where he grew up to meet up with Billa Ahmed, co-founder of Homeless Aid UK, which helps hundreds of local people who are in a desperate situation.
And Paddy made an appeal for boots and trainers.

Paddy said: “Paid a visit to my old street today. My mates at Homeless Aid UK are desperate for Size 9 footwear for homeless folk in Bolton, Manchester and Liverpool.”
He added: “If you’ve got any lying about drop them a message. Any size welcome, but a shortage of 9s.”
Evening. Paid a visit to my old street today. My mates at @HomelessAid_UK are desperate for Size 9 footwear for homeless folk in Bolton, Manchester and Liverpool. If you’ve got any lying about drop them a message. Any size welcome but a shortage of 9’s.👍🦶#size9 #homelessaiduk https://t.co/zHMZozWavw

This is the not the first time Paddy has turned up to help the charity, which is helping more people than ever as the cost of living soars.
The TV celebrity was in Bolton helping the organisation as they gave out food to those in need in December.
Paddy grew up in Auburn Street, where he has spoken of having ‘very special memories’.
He has always spoken highly of his Bolton roots - even bringing the Top Gear film crew to the town to film an episode, describing it as the capital of the UK.
