A police dog chased a man out of a pub as he attempted to break in.

Police dog Kyp was already hot on his heels as the man tried to break into a Farnworth pub.

The man ran off when he saw police approach, but PD Kyp was faster and caught him.

The man was then arrested for attempted burglary.

A spokesman for police said: “At GMP Dogs we do love a good pub; so luckily PD Kyp was close by early doors this morning when somebody tried to break into one in Farnworth town centre.

“Kyp detained one male who ran off just as they arrived on scene and was arrested for attempt burglary. First round on Kyp.”

Also recently, A motorist who tried to hide from officers following a police chase was tracked by police dog Eddie.

Traffic police say a Seat car failed to stop and a pursuit took place.

The driver abandoned the car on Car Bank Crescent, Atherton and hid in a garden. He was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police’s Traffic Unit said: “This Seat on false plates failed to stop and was pursued through Atherton.

“Driver abandoned on Car Bank Crescent but was caught by PD Eddie hiding in a neighbouring garden.
