The multi-award-winning stage musical The Lion King has today announced (June 6) that it will be extending its run in Manchester.
The show now has a seven-week run starting on October 27 2022 and ending on February 19 2023.
The show was originally set to end ahead of Christmas with a final date of performance of December 24, but will now go past Valentine's Day.
The news comes as the show celebrates its 20 millionth guest in the UK, with the production now being seen by over 110 million people in 100 cities across the world.
The spellbinding show marries puppetry (there are 232 puppets in every show) and costumes with a huge cast of actors to bring Simba’s tale to life.
Sheona Southern, Managing Director of Marketing Manchester, said: "We are delighted to welcome Disney's sensational musical The Lion King back to Manchester.
