A woman was taken to hospital after a serious multi-vehicle crash happened on a major Bolton road yesterday evening.
Emergency services were called to reports of a 'serious collision' on Chorley New Road at 10.10pm on Saturday, involving two cars.
A woman was taken to hospital with injuries and the road remained closed until around 9am on May 29.
In a statement given to The Bolton News on Sunday, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "I can confirm there was a serious collision between two cars at around 10.10pm last night.
"A woman is in hospital."
The road was closed in both directions due to accident investigation work.
According to road monitoring account, MancTraffic, the multi vehicle crash included an overturned car at Beaumont Road/Victoria Road.
Accident investigation work took place from Ravensdale Road to Overton Lane.
Ambulance and police have been approached for further information on the incident.
This comes just three weeks after a cyclist died following a non-stop road traffic collision on May 5.
Emergency services attended and the cyclist, a man in his 50s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
