A former Bolton police officer has been charged along with misconduct in public office.
Stephanie Heaps is facing criminal proceedings along with other people from the town.
The 30-year-old, currently of Cheshire and formerly of GMP’s Bolton district, has been charged with two counts of misconduct in public office, money laundering and intentionally encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence.
Misconduct proceedings relating to Heaps will begin at the end of criminal proceedings.
Others who were charged include the following people, all from Bolton.
Lee Ramsden, 50, and Clifford McCarthy, 43, are both charged with money laundering.
Thomas Barrass, 33, and Philip Markland, 38, are both charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.
Joanne Campbell, 46, is accused of money laundering and intentionally encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence.
Leon Ramsden, 33 and currently at HMP Parc, is charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, money laundering, three counts of without authority possessing a mobile in prison and being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug.
The group, except for Ramsden, will all appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates on Wednesday, June 22.
