An open day at a Bolton Fire Station is promising fun for all the family while also raising money for two good causes.
The open day will be held at Farnworth Community Fire Station on Albert Road on Sunday June 5 between 10am and 4pm, with firefighters hoping to attract families from all over the borough.
The event will feature a variety of fire service themed activities for all the family.
A fire service spokesperson said: “There’ll be fairground rides, activities it should be a fun day out for families.
“It’s for two good charities, its to raise money for our firefighters charity and for the Manchester Children’s Burns Camp.”
The provides rehabilitation activities that are designed to help children and young adults under the care of the regional paediatric burns services in Greater Manchester after they have been injured in fires.
It is not funded by the NHS or the fire service, which makes charitable donations from fundraising drives like next month’s open day all the more important.
The day is also intended to help strengthen the bonds between the fire service and the community they serve and is an opportunity to teach children and young people about the importance of fire safety.
