GREATER Manchester police have made several arrests as part of a crackdown on the illegal supply and manufacturing of counterfeit prescription drugs.
Officers raided homes across Wigan and Salford this morning, and seized cash, drugs, and a significant amount of specialist equipment.
A GMP spokesperson said: “We delivered some early wake up calls as part of a crackdown on the illegal supply and manufacturing of counterfeit prescription drugs across Salford and in Wigan this morning.
“Arrests have been made along with cash, drugs and a significant amount of specialist equipment seized.”
As part of the crackdown, back in April 2021, neighbourhood officers in Cheetham Hill carried out a raid at an address on Fulshaw Walk, Ardwick, where almost £40k in cash - suspected to be from the illegal supply of illicit prescription medication - in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, was seized.
More details are expected to follow on the latest incident later today.
