A women’s charity met the HRH Duchess of Cornwall to mark a special movement supporting women.

Fortalice representatives in Bolton met HRH Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as part of the ‘I Am’ exhibition in Manchester on May 3.

The day celebrated brave survivors and their stories as well as touching on the important issues surrounding domestic abuse.

A spokesperson for Fortalice said: “This week we were fortunate to meet HRH The Duchess of Cornwall at the 'I Am' Exhibition in Manchester.

“The exhibition enforced how there are no stereotypes when it comes to domestic abuse. Survivors that attended courageously shared their story.”

Manchester Central Library featured photographs of survivors taken by photographer Allie Crewe.

The Duchess has been Emmaus Mossley Homelessness Charity’s patron since 2006, who hosted the event.

A statement by Charles, Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, said:” The ‘I Am’ exhibition, positioned outside Manchester Central Library, features captivating portraits of survivors of domestic abuse. Developed with Safe Lives, of which The Duchess is Patron, Her Royal Highness today viewed the exhibition and met some of the featured survivors.

Those invited, including Fortalice, will find out soon if they have been shortlisted to receive a Platinum Champion award to be celebrated at one of the Big Jubilee Lunch events across the UK this June.
