A local independent travel agents has found success in a move of premises.
Althams Travel of Farnworth has moved premises on the same street amongst the news of the regeneration of Farnworth town centre.
The new shop had its opening on Saturday, May 14, complete with their mascot, Sunshine Sally.
Manager of Farnworth Althams, Becci Hughes, aged 34, spoke to The Bolton News about the move.
She said: “The opening was good, we had lots of interest.
“Travel is picking up now so we have had a really busy few weeks. It’s been a bit stressful!”
She added: “There is a lot of footfall where we are at the bottom of the street.”
On being asked whether the new shop is in a better position in town, Becci said:
“It is now, because everything where we were has closed because of the regenerations.
“We’re on the same side of the road as we were before, so it’s probably similar to what we would have been.”
Becci is also happy with the new shop and how it’s going.
She said: “We’ve got a lovely new shop, it’s been refurbished and looks nice and modern.
“Considering the regenerations, this shop came up and we thought to get it while we could.”
