A NEW pizza parlour is opening in Bolton town centre.
Matthew Oliver from Bury is getting a 'pizza' of the food and drink action in the town by bringing FireAway to Newport Street.
It will open at the end of May.
The pizza franchise runs 106 parlours in the UK and this is the first of a number of new openings in Oldham, Blackburn and Salford.
Matthew, who lives in Bury, owns three FireAway pizza shops. They are in his hometown, Rochdale and now Bolton.
He said: “I am very excited and I’m hoping people are willing to give us a try and come down.
“They’ll notice that they can’t compare us to anyone else and they’ll come back.
“The town centre was the perfect location to open for us because we wanted to be visible, it’s the prime location and that was the plan.”
The pizzeria will also have seating on two floors available for those wanting to dine inside.
Matthew said: “Our setup is different, and people call us the Subway of pizzas because customers can see the pizza being made with all the toppings right in front of them.
“Everything is fresh, all made on site, and we are different because we will do deliveries out of the town centre location, so we don’t solely rely on people coming in.
“Around 75 per cent of the income is in deliveries.”
FireAway will be offering 100 free pizzas to the first customers and £5 off any signature pizzas for the first two days of their launch.
Matthew lived in Botlonbefore moving back to Bury.
He said: “I have always wanted to go into the food industry and started researching it in 2019 when I was preparing to close my hot tub business.
“Hot tubs are very seasonal, so the interest wasn’t always there, and I wanted to go into something more stable.
“I came across FireAway (franchise) and I was impressed after meeting the CEO, Marie Aleppo in London.”
FireAway also has pizzerias in Birmingham, Manchester and another one in Westhoughton.
