PEAKY Blinders star Cillian Murphy and TV favourite Sarah Parish have all been filmed in Bolton – and now the borough’s very own aspiring actors can follow in their footsteps.
Bolton has been described as the new Hollywood on more than one occasion and now filmmakers are on the search for new faces to join them on a new short being filmed in the town.
Rising star, Jordan Rising, will play a lead role in the short film which was penned and directed by local amateur director and actor, Peter Haslam.
Fete Accomplis tells the story of James, a young man played by Jordan, who despite his reluctance, visits a fortune teller at a church fete.
The fortune teller, played by local actress Jacqui Brian, foretells James' future, which predicts certain events in James' life which start to become true.
As the predications inexorably come to fruition, James considers the final prophesy, where he will die.
Can James escape his fate, or is it a "fait accomplis...?"
Talking about his new leading role, Jordan said: "I’ve just appeared in a play, Taking Steps for The Marco Players/ 19th Hole, directed by Peter.
“He is a brilliant director who not only has his own ideas but is open to suggestions from both cast and crew.
"I am really looking forward to working with him again on this project.”
Although the main roles are full, the team would love people from across the borough to play as extras.
The filming will take place during June and July in various locations around Bolton, South Yorkshire and Peter's Micro Bar The Loom and Shuttle in Darwen.
Talking about the roles and the short film, Peter said: "With a main cast of 15 and 100 supporting artists it has been quite a task to co-ordinate the project.
“I have a lot of experience in directing plays, but this is my first experience as a film director.
"I will be relying heavily on my crew regarding camera angles, lighting and sound levels but I am relishing the challenge.”
“We have been overwhelmed by the response from potential cast, crew and extras,” adds Jordan.
“However there are still opportunities for people to be involved, especially Boltonians like us!”
