THEY are huge fans off the show and on Bank Holiday Bolton couple will be part of it.
Adrian and Sarah Garforth will feature in the popular daytime antiques game show Bargain Hunt.
The BBC programme pits two teams against each other to find the best bargains for their money.
As the blue team, the married couple will try their hand at recognising and buying antique items.
They are hoping their love of certain antiques will stand them in good stead.
Adrian is into old boxes such as tobacco and antique tins while Sarah is a lover of antique jewellery, often adding to her collection every time she visits an antique fair.
Adrian said: "It’s something we’ve always wanted to do for ages as we watch the show all the time, so we said we would go on it, but we never got the time until Covid happened.
"Sarah applied for the show and we managed to get in."
The application form asks potential contestants to film a short video of themselves showing their personalities and what they like about antiques.
Sarah, who works at Bolton College, and Adrian decided to visit Gilly’s Antiques in Bolton to film their video as they browsed the wares, which got them into the next round, where they answered questions from a casting director.
Filming took place in September at the Cheshire Show ground last year.
Adrian said: "It was an amazing experience especially once you see how much filming goes on for just an hour long show.
"It was just unbelievable to be a part of it.
"You go to a store and if you see something you like, they stop filming and go to ask permission to be featured and I was shocked by how many stores didn’t want to be a part of it.
"We got there at 7am and were there for 12 hours as they filmed two shows at the same time."
Items the teams are not allowed to choose includes artwork and any merchandise.
He added: "When Covid came it was an opportunity to apply and we do like going to places like York and other antique fairs, but we aren’t massive antique people, we are just fans of the show.
"We watched the auction in Stockport from a screen and it was amazing to be five miles away from the auction itself due to Covid restrictions at the time.
"I’d like to thank Gilly’s Antiques for letting us film at their shop."
The couple can be seen at 12.15pm on BBC One.
