FIRE crews attended a molten glass fire this morning after equipment caught fire at an industrial unit.
It is understood that machinery at the unit had failed, and burned through the ceiling,
The fire took place at 10am on Leigh Road in Hindley Green and fire services were there for just over two hours.
There were six engines in total which attended.
Fire fighter Andy Hardman from Bolton Central said: “We were there for a couple of hours.
“The fire was at an industrial commercial building, and it was a molten glass fire.
“The machinery equipment had failed, and burned through the ceiling.
“When we got there, we stopped the molten glass fire by cooling it down and stopping it from spreading.”
