AMIR Khan has revealed his luxury watch believed to be worth £75,000 was stolen from him at gun point last night, Monday, in London.
The boxer from Bolton posted on his social media accounts about the ordeal, revealing he was held at gun point in East London, where he was crossing the road with wife, Faryal Makhdoom.
Amir said two men approached him with two guns pointing at him, asking for his watch, which he swiftly took off and handed over.
He said: “I just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton – outside Sahara Grill.
"I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily, she was a few steps behind me.
“Two men ran to me, one holding a gun from afar and one had the gun pointing to my head, asking for my watch.
“The main thing is, we’re both safe. I’ve posted the watch and serial number in case it goes around, and we catch find out who’s done this.”
The watch is rumoured to be worth around £75,000
The Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident after being called to High Road, Leyton on Monday around 9pm last night.
A spokesman for the police told the BBC: “A man aged in his 30s is alleged to have been approached by two males who threatened him with a firearm before stealing his watch and fleeing," said a statement.
"There were no reports of any shots fired or any injuries. Police responded and conducted an area search.
"At this very early stage there have been no arrests. An investigation has begun and police are following a number of enquiries."
Amir and Faryal were in London for their event, The Big Iftar held just a few days prior, where the couple managed to raise more than £26,000 for Ukraine.
David Haye was also seen at the bash, with Tyson Fury auctioning off a boxing glove to help raise money along with a diamond gem artwork piece of Amir.
Amir said this morning on his Instagram: “Good Morning guys, had a good sleep. Last night was a bit mad, but I’m glad everyone is safe.
“Feels a bit weird not wearing my watch, but it is what it is. I just wanted to tell you guys that I am all good.”
The boxer has been busy raising awareness this month for Ukraine and also went to Poland to take part in the efforts himself.
