A warning has gone out to people using a town centre car park to “remain vigilant” about tailgaters due to youths “causing annoyance.”
This comes with police have reported experiencing ongoing issues at the multi-storey NCP car park on King Street, Bolton, near to Octagon Theatre.
Officers say that security has improved significantly but have still warned people using the car park to be on their guard.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “We have experienced issues with youths causing annoyance in the town centre multi storey car parks this week.
“NCP have invested heavily in security on their multi-storey’s to make them as safe as possible for customers, so if you are using these facilities please be mindful and don’t allow people to tailgate at the pedestrian entrance.
“You can only gain access with a valid ticket which has improved security significantly but please remain vigilant.”
This comes amid ongoing concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour in the town centre and across the borough more generally.
Anyone concerned about crime or anti-social behaviour in the town centre or in their communities can call police on 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
