ONE of Bolton's favourite weekends will return this year and the dates have now been revealed.
Bolton Pride is back this year and organisers are saying it is back, bigger and better than ever before and they want local people to sponsor the event.
For one weekend of special events, Pride will return to the town on the first weekend of August 5 to 7.
Saturday will be the main event day at Victoria Square with acts and performances including jugglers, stilts and Drag Queens.
There will also be a Pride parade starting from Queens Park into the town centre.
Sunday will be a family fun day with Pride organisers working closely with Bolton Wanderers at Home.
Bolton Pride Festival director, Kev Wright, and Rob Wright, associate festival director, said they cannot wait to bring the community together and they will have more details to reveal soon.
Rob said: "We are currently putting together a focus group of ambassadors, people off social media and sponsors to help promote Pride and we have already had a lot of interest.
"We don't have money to spend on big events so we just want to give opportunities to people in the community.
"We are not at the detail stage just yet but we have got some deadlines we're working towards and we are now looking to secure a stage.
"We are very focused on making the event about the community and especially the marginalised community.
"Covid-19 forced us into a coma and we are now really keen to engage with local businesses, we want them to be involved in our events.
"We are looking for key partnerhsips and sponsors.
"I'm just really really excited to bring Pride back to Bolton and to make it better than ever."
Bolton Pride and Bolton Gin Company had their launch event on Saturday for their collaboration gin, which was a huge success.
Rob said: "The launch event was a fantastic opportunity to meet people of the community.
"It was not just about the gin for us, it was the opportunity to meet and greet."
Event organisers are excited to get going and can't wait to welcome Bolton residents to their events in August.
If you would like to be considered as part of the Saturday events as a performer or you would like to sponsor Bolton Pride, contact the team on their facebook page here.
