A DINER encouraging rude and arrogant "Karen" behaviour is arriving in Prestwich soon.

The Karen’s Diner is a pop-up dining experience brought to Bury by the Wonderland Bar & Beyond Cinema.

The catch? You must be okay with rude service and bring your full Karen to the restaurant.

Asking for the manager – who is called "Karen" is highly encouraged for this experience and customers are expected to complain throughout the whole meal.

A "Karen" is a term now used to describe the characteristics of someone complaining often needlessly, asking to speak to the manager and generally being easily offended at nothing.

The term originates in the US and even has a dress style attached to it, with short hair and mininal black handbag as some of the props.

Free drinks are also given to anyone named Karen.

A statement from the Franchise said: “Karen’s has crossed the pond and made its way to Manchester.  

“Get ready for a dining experience like no other with some great food and terrible service

“Karen’s is not for the faint hearted but it's the perfect place to dine if you dislike your friends, family and colleagues.

“Bookings are highly recommended as Karens gets busy so use the booking tool to jump right on.

“We’re not looking forward to seeing you.” 

This is the second time the Karen’s Diner is brought to the UK as it originally started in Australia, with restaurants in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney as well as a recent opening in Sheffield.

A spokesman for the diner said: “Karen’s is an interactive diner and an absurdly fun experience.

“At Karen’s you will be greeted and waited upon by rude waiters who in return are expecting you to give it full Karen.

“A place where you can complain until the cows come home because we literally don't care.

“You can expect good food, good fun and a dining experience like you've never had before.

“Let us know if it's your birthday, if your name is Karen and for the love of Karen don't ask to speak to the manager.”

Apart from the incredibly rude staff, diners can tuck into delicious burgers with dirty fries, including The Basic Karen – a beef burger with American cheese, tomato, lettuce, beetroot, and garlic mayo.

Vegan patties are also available as well as cocktails and Aussie beers and milkshakes.

It is set to open later this month on Bury New Road, Prestwich.
